Every pairing we sell shares one watering habit, so there is only ever one instruction to remember.
Six to eight hours of direct sun. A south-facing window is the best indoor spot, but be honest with yourself: even a good window gives a plant only a fraction of what outdoors does. Herbs kept inside stay alive but grow thin and lose their scent.
Let the top inch of soil dry out, then water thoroughly until it runs from the drainage hole. Overwatering kills more herbs than neglect ever will. If in doubt, wait a day.
This is the part most plant gifts never tell you. Austin’s climate suits every herb we grow. Rosemary, thyme, sage, oregano, lavender and bay will all become permanent shrubs here. A windowsill keeps your gift alive for a season or two — the garden makes it last for years.
Take from the top and never more than a third at once. Regular trimming makes herbs bushier, so using the gift is good for it.
Our herbs are grown to food-safe standards by a certified organic grower. That matters more than it sounds: a lot of decorative nursery stock is treated with pesticides that are not approved for food crops. Ours is not. Rinse and cook.
You have 30 days. If a plant fails, email us a photo and we replace it free — no argument, no restocking fee.
